Long time no see, portfolio readers! I did a comic with artist kradeelav in 2019 called "Creation Myths". It was for a Kickstarted anthology called "Monster Mashup" and technically my first published work (I have a copy on my bookshelf which is still surreal!). It's my gothic sci-fi/fantasy take on what would happen if the Tin Man of the Prairies met up with Frankenstein's Monster and went on an odyssey sweeping up unfortunate innocents, right until the end of time. All in the space of eight pages!
It's a little rough around the edges, but it's probably my most emotionally charged work and I still have a lot of fondness for it. It also feels inherently queer which I love, mainly because it was created at a time when I wasn't publically labeling myself as such. Beyond that, I was blessed to work with kradeelav, who is a truly, truly gifted artist and a fantastic collaborator. They brought my scripts to life filtered through their creative vision, and it came out better than I could've hoped for. The characters, the colors, the scenery... it all fed so much into my inner emo/2000s anime nerd ego. Even if my writing may not stand the test of time, krad's art is absolutely worth your time.
